Yes, it is. It is manufactured under the same conditions and requirements set forth for human use by the FDA quality control regulations. The factory is regularly inspected by the FDA. The DC Generator must be used only for its intended use and care should be taken to protect the operator and animals.
Dental Station
Minimum 2 CFM per operatory.
Yes! We also include the following start-up supplies with all of our dental stations: polishing, bur pack, and a handpiece lubricant.
Yes, we can. For example, we can add suction, a one horsepower motor, fiber optics in the high-speed handpiece, ultrasonic scaling units, or almost anything else you desire. Since we are the manufacturer, we are happy to customize your unit to your specifications.
Dentalaire compressors are extremely quiet, odorless, and are known for their workhorse construction.
They come with a one or two-year warranty depending on the model.
No, it is not. Air Scaling is “sonic” scaling rather than “ultrasonic”, operating at approximately 6,000 cycles per second. Ultrasonic (piezo and cavitron type units) scalers operate at up to 35,000 cycles per second. Overall, the ultrasonic scalers are quieter, with fewer scratches at tooth surface.
Please call us at (800) 866-6881. Your satisfaction is our main goal. Many times, we can troubleshoot over the phone to solve the problem.
- Always lubricate high-speed and low-speed handpieces. Check instructions for lubricating low-speed handpieces. Some low-speed handpieces do not need lubrication. When in doubt, contact Dentalaire Technical Support.
- Use only distilled water in dental station to prevent build up in the lines and handpieces.
- Follow compressor maintenance chart. This takes only one minute per day.
- Make sure oil level is visible in the glass eye (at least halfway up) on the back side of the compressor.
- Fiber-Optic Illumination in High-Speed Handpiece or Piezo LED. This feature greatly improves visibility.
- Adding a Piezo Ultrasonic Scaler to any two-handpiece unit
- Standard straight tubing or curled tubing that stretches.
Yes, we do.
Handpieces
Yes in most cases, any standard “four-hole” handpiece will work with your Dentalaire station.
By not putting the bur all the way in, it can cause small nicks in the shaft of the bur, causing it to become stuck. The tolerances for the shaft of the burs are very minimal, and even microscopic nicks in the shafts will not allow the burs to slide freely.
About 12 seconds after stopping the handpiece.
Maintenance
- NEVER DROP or carelessly handle the handpiece, as you can easily damage it
- Have a minimum of 20cc. per / min. of water flowing through the handpiece
- ALWAYS remember to check the wear on the scaler tips. More than 2mm. wear, time to change the tip
- NEVER use worn scaler tips and then turn the power setting way up over 70
- The power setting usually is around 50 – 60
- If you have to keep cranking up the power the tips may be worn
- ALWAYS push the button on the back of the handpiece in all the way (until you feel a click ). This is the same when taking the bur out and when inserting the bur. If you do not do this it will get stuck. ALWAYS put the bur in all the way, NEVER half way.
- ALWAYS lubricate the handpiece before use, step on the foot pedal for 8 – 10 seconds to make sure the lubricant goes all through the handpiece.
- ALWAYS use alcohol to clean the handpiece. NEVER use any chemicals or chlorine. NEVER put it in an ultrasonic cleaner.
- Lubricate the handpiece BEFORE autoclaving it at 275 degrees for 15 min. NEVER autoclave the high-speed handpiece with the bur inserted.
- Operate at 38 – 40 PSI running at 350,000 to 400,000 RPM
- When you screw the high speed onto the tubing from the dental station there is a small gap even after you have gotten it on securely. This is normal. Nothing is wrong with this.
- NEVER run the high speed without a bur in it. This will damage the chuck.
- Lubricate the handpiece BEFORE you autoclave it at 275 degrees for 15 min. NEVER autoclave the low-speed handpiece with the prophy angle on it.
- Operate at 30 – 32 PSI running from a crawl to 5500 RPM
- When you screw the low speed onto the tubing from the dental station there is no gap like you will see on the highspeed handpiece.
- NEVER run the low speed without a prophy angle on it. This will damage the chuck.
- If Prophy Angle gets stuck on low speed, spray DCL 90 Cleaner Lubricant in bottom of prophy angle to help prevent it from happening again. NEVER use a defective/worn out prophy angle, as this could ruin the low-speed handpiece.
- ALWAYS drain the tank at the end of the day to get the excess moisture out.
- ALWAYS check oil level when the compressor has NOT been running. It should be halfway up the sight glass in the back of the compressor. Check oil level regularly.
- ALWAYS vent moisture trap weekly (while dental station is on) to keep the air going to the high and low speed handpieces clean. This will help to avoid regulator problems. Ensure that the station is on, and the compressor is fully pressurized, or this procedure will not be of any benefit.
- ALWAYS change the oil once every year.
- ALWAYS clean the AIR INTAKE FILTER when you change the oil.
